Lizzo: The Fairy Godmother of Self Love

Lizzo released her Album: Cuz I Love You on April 17. Almost immediately, the album jumped to the top of charts on itunes. Lizzo's album feels like pages from her own journal. Since Lizzo hit the scene in 2012 she has been giving us personal letters. Lizzo is known for her personality, her voice, her ass, and her laugh. These traits are accessories what she serves in her songs.

Lizzo has a plethera of anthems about self-love. The Fourth track on Because I love You is Soulmate. It is a song that I never knew I needed. Lyrics like "Yeah, the old me used to love a Gemini, Like a threesome, fuckin' with him every night" or "I get flowers every Sunday, I'ma marry me one day". She make anthems through language that speak clearly to millenial women. Lizzo has a song that connects the healing properties of coconut oil to self realization.
