Bingeworthy: The Great British Bake Off

Currently, on this Late Sunday evening, I am captivated and diving deep into the Great British Bake Off. I am not sure what made me fall in love witth his show during the last few months of 2018. Maybe it was the always accurate suggestions from Netflix that led me to the show. There are 3 things that can make a good series bingeworthy ; Interesting Cast Characters, Detailed story or images, and at least 5 episodes ready to be watched. By these accounts, this show barely makes the cut so let's sift throught the reasons I cannot stop watching this show.

Perhaps it was my Nailed It Binge watching. Or it could be the obssesion I have with food related domentaries that bring me nothing but shame and the need to run and hide from grocery stores.

I dont know.

I can only say that the Great British Bake Show is a great show!!

Here are the Host and experts Paul Hollywood, Sandi Tolksvig, Noel Fielding, and Prue Leith.

Nadiya is my favorite! She has a queit confidence about her that deceived me ultimately. Even to the very last episode! She is the first and only contestant on the show wearing hijab. A dedicated mother of 4, a wife, and a badass who managed to get her own cooking show on Netflix. Obviously a favorite!

The most inexplicable thing about the show is the sudden change in hosts. Mary Berry, beloved British cooking icon with a strong disdain for "soggy bottoms", Sue Perkins, and Mel Gierdoyc left after season 5. (below) They were replaced with the hosts and judges mentioned earlier.

Of course, I watch Chopped on the Food Network or Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives every now and then. But I binged all of 6 seasons of the British Bake Off. Every week the contestants have to make a "showstopper"cake. They come up with the most interesting creations. From bycicles made from bread to ginger beer cheesecake!

There is something about the details and the stories behind every single recipe that is so intriguing. I just cannot get enough.
