There are so many song associations that come to mind with R Kelly; Step in the name of Love, I Believe I can Fly, Bump N Grind, Age Ain't nothing but a number, Ignition (Remix), Trapped in the Closet, the list of songs could go on for hours. Ultimately, the final thing that Robert Kelly should be associated with is pedophilia and sexual perversion. Thanks to the docuseries on the Lifetime Channel: Surviving R Kelly , the full scope of his castle of lies behind melodies, catchy tunes, and a beloved charm has been esposed.
The docuseries opens with a Facebook Live video of R. Kelly exclaiming that its "too late" and they should've did this 30 years ago. I assume he is referring to the #MuteRKelly protests, criminal cases, and growing public rejection of his work. R Kelly appears to be ending a short speech about how his music is so deep into the culture that he is beyond reproach or reprimand. However, it is a new DAY. The MeToo movement will not let up on a man who has spent decades assaulting, manipulating, and raping young teenage girls and women.
This man is sorely mistaken. This new wave of feminism/womanism will not stand for abusers who use their power and influence to manipulate. He will surely join Cosby and Weinstein is their pit of shame and scummery.
Please note:
Bruce Kelly is trash. Utter trash. He dismisses R Kelly's behaviors as " he just likes really young women". No sir. These were all young girls. He is a fool that I will wait until the end of the docuseries to share thoughts on.
