Social media influencers | Leery AF

There are so many social media influencers. Its a ttile that anyone can have. There are no set list of criteria to meet to be considered a social media Influencer. I have seen instagram profiles witl 200 followers to 2 million followiers with the capion influencer in their profile.
One of my favorite social media influencers announced that she would be hosting an African fashioned dancing class in Dallas. I have been a faithful follower since a video of her her dancing to Afrobeat went viral in 2016. The video stuck on social media because it was clip of black women being genuinely happy. It is a rarity in media today.

Fast forward to this workout class that I spent about thirty dollars on:
The influencer came in abrubptly and took some pictures. I remember thinking to myself: "Oh thats her. Okay cool"
The class/show proceeded on with very little structure. I soon realized that I had been jipped. There was no concept of a an actual workout. Rather, there was full solid improvised steps. The influencer was not as personable as I would have imagined.

I walked away having learned a lesson. Social media influencers are great for 65 seconds on out phones. We should not expect them to be the person we get a tiny glimpse of for 24 hours.
There are few influencers who create content in a personable way and with true intention outside of turning likes into profit. As I find those influencer, I will add them.
