When SZA's album, CTRL, came out last year. I knew that she wrote it as a woman in her late 20s viewing life in clear hindsight. Every visual and performance I have seen released to complement the album has confirmed such.
Tonight, she finally dropped the music video for Broken Clocks. The video is set on a summer camp that appears to bein the 90s, From the strong colorful fashian to the minivan and the absence of smart phones, SZA is screaming nostalgia to our faces again.

Broken Clocks has always been about forgetting and remember. As SZA cuz aboutForgetting that she is loveAndRememberingThat she wasQuoteDown for whatever".But throughout the song she realizes that all she has a broken clots which means that there's not enough time in the dayFor her toReally do everything, AndQuote Whatever"She wants. When I listen to broken clouds I hear the want for a simpler life. Nowadays we We have been extremely busySchedules. It is as if our clocks are broken and they never seem to stopAt all.
Yes, I know that time is continuous and I will never stop.

As time goes by weAllow her to breakAnd before we know it has been years. The videos extremely nostalgic. After there bus rolls into to 'Camp CTRL', It opens with a dream catcher and ends when SZA wakes up. It is no surprise that she wakes up in the strip club,Broken clocks does reference the stripper life style a little but.
Sza's overall message of the video and the song tells us that nostaligia will aleays be in our imagination and get caught inour dreams. Our generation can no longer escape the relaties of our lives and the predicament of survival vs jot.
Rime wait for no one even when our clocks are broken.
