A month ago on January 19, 2018, Comedian, Mo'Nique released a video on social media calling for a boycott of netflix with claims of gender and race bias in their offer for a comedy spcial to her. This came about after Netflix, allegedly, offered her just $500,000 for a Netflix special. Here is a transcript of the video:
Hey, my loves, I am asking that you stand with me and boycott Netflix for gender bias and color bias. I was offered a $500,000 deal last week to do a comedy special. However, Amy Schumer was offered $11 million; Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle, $20 million. Then Amy Schumer went back and renegotiated 2 more million dollars because she said, “I shouldn’t get what the men are getting; they’re legends. However, I should get more,” and Netflix agreed.
When we asked Netflix to explain the difference, why the money was so different, they said, “Well, we believe that’s what Mo’Nique will bring.” We said, ‘What about my résumé?’ They said, “We don’t go off of résumés.” Then we asked them, “What was it about Amy Schumer?” And they said, “Well, she sold out Madison Square Garden twice and she had a big movie over the summer. Is that not Amy Schumer’s résumé?” And then Netflix said, “By the way, we believe Mo’Nique is a legend, too.” Why shouldn’t I get what the legends are getting? Please stand with me in this boycott of Neftlix. I love us for real
Since the video has been released, she has been the topic of much conversation. Mo’Nique been on a media tour to enlist anyone and everyone with sight and hearing to join the boycott. Do you Nisha response among the public was rejection of her suggestion. There were memes, think-pieces, and even Charlemagne tha God dawned Mo’Nique with the label of “Donkey of the Day”.

Initially, I was a monks the masses that rejected the boycott. However, after much reading, thinking, and research I think that our beloved Mo’Nique has a point.
Among the community of 'The Woke', it is no secret that Black women earn 63 cents to every dollar that a white man earns. This is fact despite being the most educated demographic in America.
Mo'Nique has a point. She is very qualified to bring in strwams to Netflix and has a loyal following.
Monique is the most decorated comedian alive. She has the receipts to prove so. Why should she be expected to take a small fraction of what those with less experience have even been offered. This is gender and race pay gap with big nummbers. Netflix even threw out some mention of budgeting issues. Perhaps they would have the money if they weren't paying Jerry Seinfield $100 million for his 15 minute episodes of car rides and mayonaisse baked jokes.
Black women must never accept crumbs when we deserve the whole cake. I see what Mo'Nique is doing. She understands that she must stick her neck out for the future generation of Black-Female-Comedians.
Althought i know that boycotting netflix is a tought thing to do, I implore you to listen without social media commentary goggles and listen to her words and knowledge.
