Am I Wrong to call myself Queen?

At the age of 12, I told my mother, friends, and remaining family to call me 'Queen T'. To my suprise, they obliged. I still cannot believe that they took hold. Just as Lil Bow Wow dropped the 'Lil' to symobolize maturity: I dropped 'T'. As I have gotten deep into adulthood, my favorite people have continued to call me Queen. By no means is it a mandate nor do I solicit it.

In my mid-twenties I began to ask myself: "Am I full of myself?", "Should I tell them to stop calling me Queen?". I even went so far as to deem myself undateable because a man may not want to be involved a person "full of themselves". HA! Tom FOOLERY!

At 27, I have began to accept my own divine right. I have a divine and innate right to praise and love myself how I deem fit. As women we are endoctrined to be docile, humble, and secondary in nature.

I encourage every woman to give herself a title. A moniker that will define who she is and whom the world will recognize her as.

Update March 26, 2018.

My sister read this blog and decided to send me the following:

"Dictating what others call you is an expression of power...

That is ultimately why it was so easy for us to stop calling you TeeTee and call you by the name you asked to be referred to

As

It's a recognition of the power you possess...the sheer force of nature that you

It's very obvious. You are a powerful woman. A light. And if you had decided to be called pillow we probably would've done that too"
